  2. Thanks, Lisa --- This is a piece that went through 3 or 4 different stages.. I spent 2 months on this painting.. It used to be one piece - then I split it .. At one point there was an octopus and hippies involved, which was totally insane - then it evolved into the Buddy Holly look-alike from my mother's youth and turned into a play on the word "torch": lost love and arson.. I was so frustrated with the piece at one point that I set fire to it.. It turned out to be one of the best things I did to tie it together.

  3. That's fascinating. I get being frustrated!!!!!! Two months.. wow. I think that the burned parts add depth to the piece. I guess that evolution had to happen to get such a powerful piece.
