A VISUAL JOURNAL: Pluck the day when it is ripe, trusting as little as possible to the future.

KRISTEN DUQUETTE visited the Synergy Summer Program on July 25, 2012 and shared her inspiring story. At the age of 9, Kristin was diagnosed with a form of Muscular Dystrophy (Facioscapularhumeral Dystrophy). Through much determination, she is now a Junior National and American Record Holder, a world class athlete, has represented the U.S. in swim meets such as the Greek Open, and has successfully swam the swim portion (1.2 miles) in a half ironman triathlon. She competed to be a part of the London Team and needed to be in the top 10 ranking in the world. She ranked #15 - still an amazing feat. An inspiring story, indeed.
